Enhancing Reliability in 5G NR V2V Communications through Priority-based Groupcasting and IR-HARQ

Vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication is a technology that can wirelessly exchange information on the speed and position of nearby vehicles, helping to avoid collisions, alleviate traffic congestion, improve environment. The 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) has specified methods reliability V2V sidelink (SL) by implementing hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) in casting strategy composed broadcast, unicast, groupcast. However, retransmission process HARQ results increased delay reduced throughput. In this paper, we propose priority-based groupcasting method achieve high throughput when applying various strategies. Additionally, amount retransmitted data adjusted through constraints outage probability maximize Simulation evaluate performance strategies confirm proposed significantly improves resource efficiency compared conventional broadcasting. system enhanced with increasing from 1.05 [Mbps] 2.08 [Mbps], indicating an improvement over 98%.
